Ironman Austria - A 'William’s Fund' Epic - see the latest update and help by donating at Just Giving

TenpointA charity adventure?
It's a common refrain.
But this one's "The Greatest Sporting Challenge"...
Ten-Point’s at it again.

Helen and Robin will try not to cry
It's IRONMAN AUSTRIA 4TH OF JULY
This is a tough one, that much is clear
We’ve got to get training, it’s less than a year.

So no festive boozing, no choc or mince pies
Just big bowls of porridge, salad, power bars
and ...butterflies.

We'll do lots of training in winter and spring,
Cycling and running – that sort of thing.
It's going to be snowy, windy and wet
And frankly, we need all the help we can get.
So we're going to ask you to give what you can
To the reach the set target of a whopping 5 grand.
It's going towards Johanna and William’s Fund
And with everyone's help, it can be done.

It's not as bad as it sounds,
If we all give just 2 pounds.
It won't leave you in the lurch
But it's all we need to fund Children's Cancer Research.

So, for you, 2 minutes on JustGiving job done.
For us:
Blood, sweat, tears, tantrums and trials; 2.4 miles swim, 112 miles on a bike and a marathon run
...BAREFOOT ...Ten-Point Style.

You can find more info any time of day
At 3W's dot WilliamsFund.co.uk
So please click now before you forget,
We're off for a run and we're gonna get wet!
Thank You!

Ironman Austria July 4th 2010- It started with a 'sprint' triathlon .... well, a 750m swim followed by a 20km bike ride and a 5k run to finish off with didn't seem too bad at all .... the clue of course was in the name 'sprint'. When the klaxon sounded, everyone went .... FAST!!! Being a bit of a plodder, and rarely out of my comfort zone, but having started a community triathlon team to get everyone off their bottoms and in the fresh air, plan B was born. IRONMAN! Now you could really get your teeth into a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle ride and a marathon to finish, and going fast isn't an option for all but the elite. However getting out of that familiar 'comfort zone' is tricky. But as Johanna succinctly put it, if a 2 year old can go through cancer, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and all things connected, then a grown-up can cope with a little discomfort ... especially as you get to live at the end of it.

So, preparation has begun. Robin and Helen have entered Ironman Austria July 4th 2010. The training is huge and uncomfortable. But we're going to do it, and raise as much money as we can, so that more kids get to live at the end of their cancer treatment. The clock is ticking, and even though we have months and months of training to complete, we get butterflies if we think about the date! So dig deep, the money goes direct to the research team so that the kids get a better chance. We will dig deeper if you help us. Please donate at www.justgiving.com/ten-point
