Hi Everyone! 2017… As I write this it’s Sunday, just opened the curtains and … it’s snowing!
Henry (15) will be thrilled, snow is always welcome – even though he’s growing!
He’s as tall as me now, acting a little, – mostly odd! Still swimming and completed his first D of E,
I don’t think he’ll do any more… he enjoyed the camping, but he’s not the ‘yomping’ sort…we’ll see!
In summer he took a train up to Hull on his own, to see his big Bro
What they got up to? I did ask… but probably best we don’t know!
Lucinda (18) had a fabulous year, worked hard, lots of saving, great results … so …summer of fun alert!
Croatia, Amsterdam, Mallorca, & Grandpa’s first festival – ‘Rewind 80’s Henley’ … 2 nights in a Yurt!
Now settled at University of Leicester, History with American Studies, already swum at Sheffield in the BUCS!
We all miss her lots, she has lots of new friends, but she’s realising life away from home is not quite so deluxe!
Edward is in his last year of MSc in Hull, a good skipper on the boat trip on family Mallorca fun,
Also, a boys family sailing holiday in Greece… I can’t wait to see the film when it’s done!
Both will be home for Christmas… a wonderful treat – I just hope the fridge will hold enough to eat!
Peter (70) still working (?) but now has Mallorca all set, bikes, beer & bed… retirement calling in 2018
Maybe less travel and some consultancy between mountainous rides, just to keep his brain lean!
I got to Australia this year! Daddy & I had an incredible 3½ week trip starting in Sidney .. we packed so much in,
Dad was fabulous, we climbed, swam, walked, flew, snorkelled, dived, drove to so many places & saw relatives & kin!
The first half of this was written calmly and slow, then I got interrupted by ‘stuff’ and snow…
Now it’s William’s anniversary so we’re having a drink… let’s just hope it helps me think!!
William would be 21 now so we’ve launched #21forWilliam … £1m is our aim
We’ve raised £850,000 so just £150,000 to reach our goal in his name!
This would seriously help our researchers in Oxford to the next step & make their future bright
We feel with everyone’s help, by his birthday – 13th March – this is realistically in sight!
So what can you do? Utilise ‘21’ somehow to raise money?
At your club, work, school, business, social event… do anything… make it funny!
‘21 What?’ I hear you shout?! Up to you… 21p, £21, 21 days, 21%, £2.10, £2,100, make it however you like!
We’ve had great sign ups so far… 21 sun salutations, 21 in French, no need for exertion, trainers or a bike!
So why not join in, we can send you stickers & posters too…
