Three industrious school girls have made cupcakes, bookmarks and organised games to raise money for two charities. The 10-year-olds from Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy managed to raise over £50 between them for William’s Fund, which raises money for research into childhood cancer following the death of four-year-old William Dodd, and St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital.

The girls – Nicole Spittle, Hanna Richards and Felicity Seymour – raised the cash during their lunchtime. Nicole’s mum Sue Spittle said: “They also had games like guess the number of sweets in a jar and guess the name of the teddy. Following a successful lunchtime where lots of fun was had and lots of cakes eaten the girls managed to raise £54. These girls undertook this fundraising under their own initiative and I hope it may inspire other children to do the same.”
