Harry’s Rainbow – Auction success!

The Story: A few weeks ago we had a call from Suzy, Harry’s Mum… offering a picture Harry had made for auction for William’s Fund… Obviously I jumped at the chance to meet Harry and see the picture…. I was amazed by both!!

Harry had entered a competition on the BBC with a picture of a rainbow (for the NHS) his picture was chosen from thousands of entries to appear in lights in London’s Piccadilly… a star in the making?! Did I mention Harry is only 9 years old?!

Harry then made a rainbow picture on canvas using old toys and Lego which he gave to his friend Simone at My Boutique in Farnham Common, many customers admired it and wanted to buy it!! Simone suggested to Harry he could sell these pictures…but Harry decided he wanted to make one for charity instead… My Boutique have supported William’s Fund for many years so Simone suggested us….Harry loved the idea and the auction idea was born!!

I met Harry,  clearly an artistic and wise soul, excited for the auction but seemingly unaware of his talent! A lovely boy! He explained he ad got a bit a bit bored of some of his childhood toys and this was his way of using them… incredible! His Mum Suzy was on hand to help hold things as they stuck!

The picture was duly put on auction via a video with Simone & Harry, and the bids and donations came flooding in (pardon the pun Suzy Flood!)

The Video: An amazing story from Harry & Simone…. Watch here…

The Result: Here is a thank you from Suzy, Harry’s Mum…

“A massive thank you to everyone that helped to raised a whooping £1,570 from the auction of Harry’s rainbow for the Williams Fund.

Special thanks to Suzanne Hayes who won the rainbow for her daughter Danielle. Thank you so much Suzanne Hayes for your amazing generosity.

Special thanks also to Simone and My Boutique for organising and hosting this charity event, thank you all. Finally, huge thanks to Harry for making this fantastic rainbow.”

We would like to add our Thanks to everyone who bid, donated or shared the posts. Huge thanks to Simone for her time and continued support of William’s Fund and of course to Harry and his Mum Suzy for their organisation, photos and the incredible picture, I’m sure we will be seeing a lot of Harry and his art in future years!!

Thanks to Suzanne for her bid … We wish Danielle good luck with the baby later in the year and look forward to updating our photos to include Harry’s Rainbow in the nursery with the baby!
